What coaching can help with
Coaching gives you protected thinking space. Our conversations are confidential and supportive: I listen with curiosity, ask questions and help you think more clearly about what you want to change and how to get there.
Step into a new role, develop confidence, handle difficult relationships and shape an authentic leadership style.
Explore a crossroads, progression, a new direction or the next stage of your working life.
Understand what is holding you back, communicate what you need and act with greater self-belief.
Think well when the environment is complex, pressured or politically difficult.
Clarify priorities, energy and practical changes that make work more sustainable.
Clarify values, recognise strengths and decide what meaningful progress looks like for you.
Who I work with
I have particular insight into healthcare and medicine, and have coached people from other professional backgrounds.
I work with emerging professionals and experienced leaders who are willing to examine assumptions, consider new perspectives and take responsibility for the choices they make.
About Me
I am Dr Clare Rees, a qualified Level 5 Coaching Professional and an expert Consultant Paediatric Surgeon in a major London teaching hospital. I have coached colleagues across different professions and specialties for more than four years, alongside a career in leadership and complex decision-making.
I bring curiosity, perspective and an understanding of high-stakes environments; you remain the expert in your own life and decisions.
My approach
I do not believe that people fit neatly into a single coaching model. I use a flexible toolkit to help you take responsibility for your own decisions.
My role is not to hand you answers. It is to create the conditions in which you can discover better ones. I will give you my full attention.
How it works
Coaching works as a series of purposeful conversations. You share the areas where you want to grow or develop; I listen with curiosity and ask questions that help you find clarity and develop a plan.
A complimentary 30-minute conversation to understand what you are looking for and whether working together feels right.
We clarify goals, boundaries, confidentiality, expectations and what useful progress would look like.
A typical engagement is four to six sessions, adapted to your goals and circumstances.
We reflect on what has changed, what you have learned and how you will sustain progress.
Coachee feedback
Feedback from people Dr Clare Rees has coached during her professional development programme.
“Clare is such an attentive listener. I found her coaching style highly motivating and felt refreshed after all of our sessions.”
“The coaching came at a vital time… it gave me a focus, helped me see the situation afresh and supported me to find my strength and purpose again.”
“Clare is very good at reflecting things I say back to me and making me see alternative ways of interpreting interactions and conversations.”
Trust & boundaries
Good coaching depends on trust, clarity and professional boundaries.
I am governed by the Global Code of Ethics for Coaches, Mentors and Supervisors. Coaching is not therapy, medical treatment, legal advice or clinical consultation.
